| Let's just ignore my terrible skin, I have no idea what happened |
I've recently purchased tons of makeup products at once (which is very rare since I normally get a little something every week or so) so I'll probably be doing a lot of reviews in the near future starting now!
This product in particular I didn't buy myself, my lovely friend Karina got it for me for my birthday. I'm very thankful for this amazing present because I've been wanting to get my hands on a NARS lip pencil for ages, but I've never had the chance to. This particular color (Dragon Girl) has always amazed me, although I'd never thought bright lips would look good on me. So I was actually very happy this one did! I think it's mostly because it's matte. I've never been much of a shiny lips person, I guess. I tend to gravitate more towards matte or maybe sheer lipsticks, because I feel like they match my style a lot more than glossier ones. Maybe the second picture isn't the best example (I seriously don't know what's going on with my skin there), but I feel like bright colors like this gorgeous sort of fuchsia tone, look great with my pale complexion. Nude lips are not my type either, maybe in the summer when my skin's a little darker. Even though this pencil is all I could ever ask for, there's always a 'but'. The matte finish is flawless but being matte means it is also very drying. If you have dry lips like mine but you're a free and wild spirit then why not go ahead and get it? But I wouldn't really recommend it. Although, I don't know if it was coincidence or not, it wasn't so unbearable after all. I've only worn it once, and it was for a not-so-long period of time, so maybe that's the reason. But I survived! (haha) Also, another thing that I found interesting is that my lips didn't look dry, like most matte products make them look.
If I were to rate this product, I'd give it a solid 9/10. I'm obviously very happy with it and I'm really looking forward to wearing it again sometime soon!
